Meyer" Subject: More Questions Here are the rest of the questions. What's the best way to test web page design compatibility with other web browsers (ie:netscape vs explorer)? (1) Should design dictate font style and size, or should viewer be allowed to modify? (2) General rules for font style and size? (3) Design suggestions for non-designers? Is there an easy (easier?) way to place images on a page? I can never get them where I want them to go... Have you ever used Layout Master software? Browser incompatibility: How do maximize use of stylesheets for a campus that is still running on a standard of NN 4.7x? (The president's screen.) 1. How do we design pages that take full advantage of CSS while still looking good in Netscape 4 and other browsers with poor CSS support? 2. I'm interested in faster/better ways to migrate content from old sites into new designs, as I do a lot of site re-design work Do you have suggestions on how to avoid accumulative font sizing? (Font size creep?) For example, I'd like to set relative font sizes such that switching from "smaller" to "medium" or "larger in IE doesn't greatly exaggerated the results. Also, I'd like to understand better how advanced CSS2 selectors can help filter its effects in non-compliant browsers, if at all. -- Mark Mende Coordinator of Electronic Communications St. Lawrence University Canton, NY 13617 315-229-5955 mmende@stlawu.edu
