ALA’s New Print Styles

Published 18 years, 6 months past

You asked for it, you begged for it, you demanded it: A List Apart is sporting a working print style sheet for the articles.  Want to know more about it?  Read “ALA’s New Print Styles“, my new article over at ALA.

Believe it or not, that’s only my second ALA article ever, and the first one was the classic “Going To Print“.  Maybe one of these days I should write an ALA article that doesn’t involve ink on dead trees.

Of course, if I stick to the interval established by my first two ALA articles, the next one won’t appear until 2008 early 2009… so I guess I have some time to think about it.

  1. Multun, non multa (quality, not quantity), my dear fellow. Your articles are more prolific than versions of Internet Explorer!

  2. In Firefox (1.0.6, XP), there seems to be a display oddity in the Print Preview, where the link extends beyond the parentheses generated by your CSS, and in some cases the link even overlaps following non-link text. It’s more noticeable on long URLs, e.g. the generated links in the Reworking the Date section. I’m not sure if this is a CSS issue or a browser bug, so I thought I’d ask here first.

  3. My friend, you and your guru web friends always encourage me to seek forward knowledge of web development and web standards. Your audience, would love to read more of your inspirational writings and tutorials when you have something in mind to share with the community. Thanks for giving the little guys (amateurs) in ‘web dev’ hope for a brigther new future and standard compliant internet.
