Things that Eric A. Meyer, CSS expert, writes about on his personal Web site; it's largely Web standards and Web technology, but also various bits of culture, politics, personal observations, and other miscellaneous stuff

I went through a community college web design program that was based on the CIW curriculum. I think as it existed then it would have made a good starting point but it was in no condition to be used as the basis for an entire 2 year program. It had some major shortcomings at the time, but the last I heard about the program (which would have been late summer 2005) the people behind CIW were aware of the need for an update and were working on it. Foundations 5.0 at least looked like a step in the right direction. Sadly there's more hope for CIW to update their courseware than there is for colleges and universities to update their outdated web design/development curricula (curriculae? curriculums?).

I'd be very interested in hearing any thoughts you have on the status of their program provided sharing such thoughts would not place you in any sort of uncomfortable or compromising positions.

Sounds like I won't be running into you at any Cleveland Area Web Standards meetups this fall -- with you out of town and all. Maybe you'll attend one in the winter that I attend as well so that I can gush in person about how much I enjoyed An Event Apart in Chicago.
